Plaque Mounting

This popular technique enhances the look of prints, posters, photos, postcards, certificates and point-of-sale items by creating an elegant and clean presentation that blends with home and office décor.

Artwork is measured then mounted and laminated to a sturdy, lightweight 3/8" wood-fibre backing. A premium, non-glare, UV-blocking laminate finish is applied, providing permanent protection from fading and water damage. A 45-degree bevel is applied to all edges, and then sanded. Choice of trim colour is affixed to the beveled edges. A keyhole groove is routed into the backing for hanging.

An optional metal easel stand (shown at right) is also available for plaques that are 11" X 14" or smaller.

Plaque Mounting Options

Float Mount

Artwork is measured then mounted and laminated to a sturdy, lightweight ¼" wood-fibre backing. A 1" molding is adhered to the back and inset two inches all around. This technique causes the print to float on the wall - an ideal affect for recessed walls or niches. A 45-degree bevel and choice of trim colour are then applied to the edges. A keyhole groove is routed into the backing for hanging.

Flush Mount

Artwork is measured then mounted and laminated to a sturdy, lightweight ¼" wood-fibre backing. A 1" molding is adhered to the back and placed flush with the edge of the wood to create a clean, contemporary look. A 45-degree bevel and choice of trim colour are then applied to the edges. A keyhole groove is routed into the backing for hanging.

Matted Plaque Mount

Artwork is measured and cropped to image (borders are removed unless otherwise specified). The matte is cut to size, then mounted and laminated onto a ¼"-thick wood-fibre backing. A bevel and choice of trim colour are applied to the edges. A keyhole groove is routed into the backing for hanging. Note: Mattes can be cut to any size.

Duplexed Mount

This unique process uses two wood-fibre backings to create a three dimensional effect. The first piece of backing is cut ¼" thick, with the image mounted and laminated onto the surface. A 45-degree bevel and choice of trim colour are applied to the edges. The second piece of backing is cut 3/8" thick and 1½" wider than image size all around. A choice of black or white matting is laminated to the surface and a keyhole groove routed for hanging. A 45-degree bevel and colour trim are applied to the edges. The ¼" wood backing is then centered and adhered to the top of the 3/8" wood backing.
